About The Artist
Alain Jules Hirwa is a multidisciplinary artist in poetry, essay writing, and photography.
His work is rooted in stories of identity, migration and cultural preservation. His chapbook “Hairpins” was published by Akashic Books in 2023, and his manuscript “Dear Zoe” was a finalist for the 2025 Sillerman First Book Poetry Prize. Alain Jules’s photography has been exhibited in Kigali and London.
